True about the gym in Coeburn, but they could also be looking at it as they could use the gym even if they build 3 new schools for the new school and tear down the rest of the old building to make more parking and would have to spend as much on the new building if all they had to put in was a smaller gym area without bleachers for phys. ed. classes. Just a thought not any credence to it.

We played a tourney at Coeburn several years ago. 3 gyms within walking distance, and one for all 3 class groups in other towns. Consolidating high schools won't fix this. Some have one priority , some have others. Like KY playing all schools together in sports. And KY taxes, raise taxes to match KY and we can pay for new schools.

Electrical means fiber optic lines, larger compacity, a gutting of the old if you will, not just 3 more outlets in a wall. The systems fail now as it is. Its like puttin a corvette engine (or trying to) into a Model T Ford.

To fix Appalachia, it would cost over 2.5 million alone for windows.

No clue how much it will cost but 2 years ago Wise Co was looking at $30 Million for HVAC alone if spuds can do it cheaper then turn him loose on it

you should understand then how much it would cost to rebuild 6 new schools (not just Appalachia and Pound) because they are all outdated, my essay was for all of the county schools, they are grossly outdated.

Wow, I'd like to know who's contracting that, because I think they'd be making a huge profit. RC is a school building of comparable size to Appy, and it didn't cost anywhere near that to replace all the windows in the school with high quality thermal panes.
